Birthday Gift Always Unavailable by Year-End

Hi Sephora Community,

I wanted to share an ongoing issue I’ve had with the Beauty Insider birthday gifts. My birthday is near the end of the year, and every year since I became a Beauty Insider, most of the popular birthday gift options are already gone by the time I try to redeem them.

This year, when I went to a store, nearly half of the options were gone. I specifically asked for the Summer Fridays or Laneige sets, but the associate said they did not have them and suggested I try online. When I went online, those gifts were also unavailable. I reached out through the app to ask if anyone could help me locate a store that had these gifts, but the representative said there was nothing they could do and ended the chat.

I haven’t redeemed my birthday gift yet, but I may have to settle for something I don’t want since it will expire soon. It feels really unfair that customers with later birthdays consistently have fewer options, and the Beauty Insider points system doesn’t make up for it, since points aren’t enough to get the same products.

I’m hoping someone from Sephora can help me find a fair resolution (ideally one of the gifts I originally wanted or another alternative of equal value). I’d love to hear if anyone else has faced the same issue and how they handled it.

@magpie31 similar thing happened to me...I was unable to get the Kay Ali.

Sadly, the same thing happened last year. At my store we still have 4 of the 7 options left including the Laneige. I would call around and see if any store near you has the ones you want in stock.
