Annoying "New Message" with multiple tabs open

I open multiple tabs as I explore how to spend my money and always get annoyed by the other tabs blinking NEW MESSAGE NEW MESSAGE. Does anyone else shop with multiple tabs and do you just click the x in every tab? Does anyone even find chat helpful?

I have used the chat a couple of times and have found it helpful when needing a little bit more info on something or wondering if two things would be okay in combination but YOU ARE SO RIGHT! It's actually infuriating and I find the little flashing words on the tab so stressful so i go through each one and close them. I feel like there should be a way for them to tell that it is the same person (ME) in each tab and there is no need for multiple representatives to try and help me at one time.
