do you prefer standard however good quality amber resin or the whales' ambergris bm-bouquet  in your fragrances ?

Tough question! I think it really depends on how it's used in the fragrance. I don't think I've ever smelled real ambergris...

ah ok, for "real elbow grease " ambergris  one must go back to the pre-millenium , pre-digital, pre-reality shows,.... and jump back to the fully loaded recipes of the big houses , and then it would still be difficult to discern that note unless you had an echantillon to guide you;

would you believe, the first original Old Spice, what my dad wore often, had ambergris ?? ... surprise to me

...you know, if i had to choose one thing to describe what ambergris smells like it would be from what i remember a short glass of Black Diamond Rum on ice being high quality, made with organic ingredients.
