Perfume recommendations

As a man that has NO issues wearing any perfume/Cologne, as long as it smells amazing and mixes well with my skin chemistry, I have a pretty nice collection of perfumes and it's growing even more. niche or designer fragrances. anybody have any good recommendations on scents I should try?

My signature scent is Lolita Lempicka. Ther original bottle for men they discontinued, but i Love anything dark, spicy. sweet.

Re: Perfume recommendations

@NonoBoy  I am not sure what your price range is but you should give the following a try:

Oud for Greatness by Initio Parfums Prives

Herod by Parfums de Marly (sweet tobacco)

Au Coeur du Désert by Tauer Perfumes

Chamade Homme by Guerlain (a masculine floral)

Derby by Guerlain

Gentleman Eau de Parfum by Givenchy  (imagine replacing the cocoa in Dior Homme Intense with vanilla)

Dior Homme Intense by Dior

Santos Concentrée by Cartier

Grimoire by Anatole Lebreton (If you like cumin, you'll love this)

A*Men Pure Malt by Mugler

Re: Perfume recommendations

@Vmaster Totally forgot about A*Men! Definitely fits the bill

Re: Perfume recommendations

These all sound amazing!

Making shopping list know. Thank you!

Grimoir struck a chord.

@NonoBoy

For dark, spicy and sweet I'd try

Designer

  • Yves Saint Laurent Opium 1 oz  - classic oriental, though the current version is weaker than the vintage. Vintage Opium is very rich and complex.
  • TOM FORD Tobacco Vanille Eau de Parfum Fragrance 1.7 oz/ 50 mL  - rich very wearable. You can also try MAC's Velvet Teddy for a more affordable options
  • Comme des Garcons - 2man. CdG excels at woody, spicy and smoky fragrances. 2man fits the bill. You might also like Jaisalmer, but it's not really sweet..

Niche

  • Sephora carries Serge Lutens in Canada and I could never tag the products but the whole line is very dark and it carries a number of spicy and sweet scents. They can often have this lovely stewed fruit sweetness, so it's rich and not at all harsh. Start with Arabie, Chergui, Amber Sultan, Borneo 1834, Baptême du Feu or Le Participe Passé. If you want something more challenging, try Serge Noire, which has a heavy dose of cloves and reminds some of sweat.
  • Amouage is another house that does dark, spicy and sweet very well. Most of the scents are quite powerful and complex. I'm afraid they are also very expensive, even for niche. Try Interlude Man, Epic Man, Jubilation XXV.
  • Zoologist - Civet - not animalistic, more of a dense cacao, quite pleasant and a little sweet.
  • KILIAN Paris Intoxicated 1.7 oz/ 50 mL  - rich, cardamom coffee, very easy to wear.
  • KILIAN Paris Straight To Heaven, White Cristal 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray - one of the house's most popular. Quite sweet with a rum note.
  • Beaufort - Vi et Armis. VERY dark and spicy but not very sweet and not an easy one. Give it a little time to settle, it is a monster straight out of the gate.

Re: Perfume recommendations

Your list of designer one i already have, actually love YSL opium for both homme/femme.

Your Niche tho..I've literally wants 95% of these.

Zoologist is incredible and Tauer as well.

Re: Perfume recommendations

@NonoBoy Opium is such a great classic! I realllllly liked the Tauers I've tried. I also like other Zoologists like the original Bat, but I do find them hard to wear sometimes. They're like these wacky pairs of shoes that are totally amazing but they're hard to match with all your outfits.

Re: Perfume recommendations

@NonoBoy Without more specifics on what you prefer, it's hard to make a recommendation, but one of my favorite's is BVLGARI - Man In Black

Re: Perfume recommendations

you're right!

I should have added a base of ideas. I'll edit.

That rum, citrus, and Amber note I see sound amazing and right up my alley.

Thank you!
