Has anyone tried Cafe Rose by Tom Ford?

I want to really love it because the name sounds perfect I love any perfume with coffee & rose notes but hesitant to blind buy this because of the price so if anyone has tried it whats the lasting power? Is there a scent similar to this? Is this feminine?

I do own a bottle of cafe rose. I don’t tend to reach for it often, but it blooms beautifully in the summer and like most Tom fords, lasts forever. The rose is fresh and opulent upon first spray, but melds into deeper spicier notes through the dry down. It’s very nice.

@niahk I agree with @blackkitty2014 in that this is a rosy scent and we tend to associate flowers with femininity so in this regard, it leans feminine. It's not really a coffee fragrance, so if you were hoping for something like Atelier Colognes Cafe Tuberosa, this may disappoint.

It's not a dupe but if you like the idea of a spicy, dark rose, Etat Libre's Eau de Protection for Rossy de Palma is by the same nose and it's quite good and more affordable. I discovered Bois de Jasmin also suggests Protection, as well as some others.

For the toasted rose layered with sweet nutty notes, try Parfumerie Générale Brûlure de Rose and Les Parfums de Rosine Rose Praline. Etat Libre d'Orange Rossy de Palma is an earthier, darker twist on this idea. If you are craving a true Middle Eastern rose, Montale Black Aoud or Aoud Queen Roses are the other interesting options. Finally, Serge Lutens Santal Majuscule will take you to Marrakesh by the way of Paris, but in this case, you should be ready for a rich hit of sandalwood before you get the rose petal showers. There are many other ways to reach the same destination.

It's been awhile since I tried Cafe Rose so I can't speak to longevity but in general, the house, especially its older releases, do tend to be very long lasting.

@niahk Tom Ford Cafe Rose is a good one. It is unisex scent though leaning more feminine in my opinion. Excellent lasting power. It’s tough to buy blind given the price but I don’t think you would be disappointed. I wouldn’t mind to have a bottle myself. Not sure about dupe or similar scent. I would refer you to our resident perfume expert @pocketvenus
