Favorite perfume or perfumes

I have over 50 different scents and am loyal to none. Which are some of your favorites and describe it please. I love trying new ones.

Re: Favorite perfume or perfumes

Hanae Mori Magical Moon. It truly is magical. I hate sandalwood in perfumes, but MM turns it into something amazing and comforting, and a bit mysterious. It's really warm and a bit fruity.

Dior Poison. One of my favorite YouTube fragrance reviewers described this as "tuberose with a witch hat on," and "white florals going to a Halloween party," and it's pretty apt. It's heady, floral, and sweet. The plum note in this is to die for. Very sultry, borderline gothic loveliness.

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. I have had a deep appreciation for tobacco-based perfumes since I was in my teens. There's something about them that strikes a chord with me. TV has a really interesting dried fruit note that keeps it from being too cloying or overbearing.

Bobbi Brown Beach. This smells like suntan lotion, dry florals, and a bit of light wood to me. It's definitely reminiscent of being on a beach, and it's very uplifting. I had a dupe of this when I was younger that I used to wear to the beach all the time, so there are also memories tied to it for me.

Re: Favorite perfume or perfumes

I'm not loyal to any particular fragrance either, but there are several I keep coming back to because they're just so lovely.

Chantecaille: Kalimantan, with incense and vanilla notes it is my favorite to wear when I want to elevate my spirits

Harvey Prince: Yogini, another incense and vanilla perfume which leans more towards a temple where you really do want to start practicing poses, not as long lasting as Kalimantan but a great price point for the quality

Thierry Mugler: Alien Musc Mysterieux and Alien Oud Majestueux, both are darker and more resinous than the original Alien, putting them right in my wheelhouse, really high quality scents that elevate the original perfume beyond its sweetness and into very sexy realms

The one house I do have a lot of love for is Jo Malone, which has scents that run the gamut from herbaceous to sweetly floral, powdery to gourmand, there's a scent for every mood in this line. I'm partial to Wood Sage & Sea Salt layered with Basil & Neroli, a beautiful day at the beach without the Coppertone notes that too many perfumers really on to give you that seaside experience.

Re: Favorite perfume or perfumes

I love these kinds of post. My absolute favorite fragrance is nest passion fruit 🍉 it is a blend of green herbals, and cocetish passion fruit. It a smell that speaks of all the different layers in a woman.

My favorite fragrance to layer is Channel Ruis De Cuir it's smells vintage a blend of leather, and tobacco. So pricey. The scent is something a tough girl from the 1920s would've worn to let you know she been many places.

Nirvana Black is one of my all time favorites. I layer this with a lot of other perfumes too.

Re: Favorite perfume or perfumes

Byredo Inflorescence is my current favorite. It smells like a bouquet of freshly cut roses and freesia. No fillers, no additives.

Speaking of freesia, it's one of my favorite notes, and I love it in Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia if I want something a little fruity.

A friend has this theory that the season you're born correlates with the scents you prefer. As someone with a summer birthday, I do love florals and fruits in my perfumes, and another lovely scent is Tocca Bianca, which has notes of florals, fruits, and tea. It reminds me of a trip I once took to Hangzhou, China, where I visited gorgeous gardens and a tea plantation.

Tea is such a nice note in fragrances. Le Labo Thé Noir is fabulous. It's a little smoky, a bit mysterious, a lot complex, and oh, so gorgeous.

@beautyqueen123 I recently tried Philosophy Amazing Grace Ballet Rose and was so impressed by the authentic rose scent - and the price point!

Re: Favorite perfume or perfumes

So glad you posted. I've been looking for a true Rose scent for ages. I will try your suggestion. Thank you

Currently my picks would have to be Adage C'i'aan for dai...

Currently my picks would have to be Adage C'i'aan for daily wear, but now that it's becoming colder again I'll be reaching for an old favorite, L'Artisan Tea for Two. Earlier in the season I was allll about the citrus: Atelier Pomelo Paradis and Clementine California, as well as Byredo Pulp were my go tos for sunny and beachy weather! And there were so many more I picked up for special occasions. MM Jazz Club for nights out at the bar, Commodity Book for evenings at readings or game nights, Tocca Cleopatra and PdM Lippizan for boss days at the office. These are seriously not even a fraction of what I have and what I want~

Where do you get your perfumes? Are they artisanal or personally made? Never heard of them but they sound amazing

Re: Favorite perfume or perfumes

My absolute favorite is Marc Jacobs daisy (that whole collection). Michael Kors wonderlust. Chanel Chance. Miss Dior blooming bouquets. My husband got me a bottle of purfume for our anniversary a few years ago but i can not remember the name 😞😮. But it had the word sexy in it.

Re: Favorite perfume or perfumes

Chanel's Cristalle Verte is one of the most gorgeous perfumes out there. It's floral but not heavy and is worth every penny of it expensive price tag. It's unfortunately hard to find, too. My second (Sephora available) choice is Chanel's Chance Eau Tendre...

Re: Favorite perfume or perfumes

How does the first one smell? I know the second one is very fresh

Re: Favorite perfume or perfumes

I have so many favorites! I'm a serious perfume collector/hoarder, and I love vintage juice. I haven't actually counted, but my best estimate is that my collection is several hundred different scents at this point. Eek! Some faves...

Paloma Picasso (original formulation) - so deep and animalic and growly-sexy. Long lasting and glorious.

Lancome Magie Noire (original formulation) - similar to PP but witchier and more mysterious.

Coty Muguet de Bois - THE ultimate lily of the valley soliflore. Simple but stunning, perfect for spring and summer, light and refreshing.

Guerlain L'Heure Bleu (vintage) - achingly beautiful, quiet and shy...at first. This one is cozy and comforting.
