setting foundation for dry skin

Hey guys, today i noticed my foundation went patchy throughout the day ALOT more than usual. It is summer over here and i have gotten burnt so my skin is very dry. Can someone please tell me how i should set my foundation on my nose (T zone) if these areas are particularly dry? should i even use a powder in these areas? I need my foundation to last all day because i work frm 11am till about 11;45pm. please help me!

setting foundation for dry skin

Ilia foundation. Giorgio Armani cc cream. and their concealer, nars is the best I've found for my dry skin- I used kopari face spray-amazing! but I enjoy my natural organic one I bought for half the price at my local farm store- for face cream I've been using riversol for about 3 months and it's a game changer!!

Re: setting foundation for dry skin

I know this question was asked a couple years ago, but thought I'd add my suggestions anyways. Overall, I have combination skin but my nose & chin often get so dry they'll start flaking.  I've found that COVER FX - Dewy Skin Primer workswonders for the drier parts of my face, plus I love a dewy, more natural look. One tip is that a little bit goes a long way so don't overdo it.  For my foundation, I just started using URBAN DECAY - Stay Naked Weightless Foundationthat I set with COVER FX - Dewy Finish Setting Spray.Together, it gives my face a natural, somewhat glowy (but not shiny) finish while also keeping my dry skin hydrated.

RE: setting foundation for dry skin

I have dry skin an use the all nighter spray by urban decay without increased dryness. I’ve tried the tarte rainforest spray and think it’s nice too... I believe the UD has more longevity. If you’d like to try a small amount of powder I’d try a talc free formula (MUFE HD and Cover FX are both talc free) and just put it on the areas that need it (t zone and jawline are areas where foundation tends to break up)

RE: setting foundation for dry skin

Skip the powder and just use a setting spray. I’ve used Tarte and that worked well. Of course everyone swears by urban decay for keeping your makeup going all night, but I haven’t used it so I don’t know how it is for dry skin. Ulta has a dewy finish setting spray that I’ve used but 12 hours might be pushing it.

Re: setting foundation for dry skin

I really like the Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray.  It's hydrating and helps the product last.  Since it has a priming component you can even use it before and after foundation.  I also only set where I am going to be using powder products or get oily.

I hope that helps!
