recommendations??

I’m looking for something that would help with my skin!! Unfortunately it gets very dry and it makes putting on makeup challenging, for me, anyway. Anything would help and I’m willing to look into anything! Thank you!!! 🙂

Re: recommendations??

As long as you don't have a skin condition such as eczema that's causing dry flakes (in which case, a doctor would be of most help), I've found that exfoliation (I personally love Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peels and First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads) is extremely beneficial.

Also, using an essence seems to help my serum and moisturizer absorb much better for better hydration. And, of course, drink plenty of water!

You should always try using Fask Mask...they seriously help make my face less dry and more soft and smooth. Tonymoly sells great face mask...you can also try Walgreens too.

The Ole Henriksen Truth Advanced Moisturizing Creme is amazing. It's the only moisturizer other than the Sunday Riley CEO that's worked for me. My skin is so beyond dry and this stuff keeps me feeling hydrated all day/night. I use it before bed and again in the morning. EDIT: The Farmacy Honey Savoir all in one skin repair salve is incredible and has totally blown both other creams out of the water

Re: recommendations??

The products that have really helped keep my skin hydrated for the winter are the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream, the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, and sheet masks @Anonymous. The cream contains lots of ceramides, which help restore and protect the skin's natural moisture barrier. It goes on really smooth and does not leave this skin feeling sticky or looking greasy. The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is very gentle and I always wake up with super soft, hydrated, and supple skin when I use it the night before. The Too Cool for School Egg Creme Mask is my favorite hydrating mask that Sephora sells is great!

Furthermore, using a gentle exfoliator once to twice a week can also help remove dead skin cells to reveal a more smoother skin. I also find that using a hydrating mist throughout the day can help with dryness. And always remember to drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated! Hope this helps!

Re: recommendations??

The thing that really helped me was adding a face oil to my routine.  I now use cleansing oil to remove makeup, put on an essence, then a facial oil, then a moisturizer.  I do the same in the morning, and my skin has gone from dry and cracked to baby smooth.  It took several weeks.  My skin was never dry in the past, but I started using a retinoid product (and turned 50!) and my skin really dried out, especially the skin around my eyes.  Putting on makeup was a challenge.  I initially started adding a little oil to my foundation and switched from brush application to beauty blender or fingers, that helped a lot.  I cannot tell you how much facial oil has improved my skin.  Sephora has many choices - the Tatcha is great but expensive, but you can get some at Ulta or the drugstore.  Derma-E has a good face oil and it is reasonably priced.  Good luck!
