dry/acne skin/peels

SOS...i have dry skin...i breakout sometimes and when i do it is a heavy breakout! i also try to use light makeup since i am not coordinated for all that 😅 i use concealer and light foundation but i can see the skin peels and the dryness...what do you wonderful beings use to help soothe breakouts and hydrate this crazy skin 😭 if you have a routine i am open to it as well!!

Re: dry/acne skin/peels

The boscia clear complexion cleanser saved my skin from breakouts, the ordinary toner really helps too. I good moisturizer like the belif moisture bomb or it cosmetics confidence in a cream really helps hydrate the skin. I like to use a good moisturizer or mask overnight to hydrate, the caudalie moisture mask or Skinfix Barrier cream. I have flakey skin especially around my mouth nose no matter what so In the shower I use a baby wash cloth to gently go over my face and really get off any flakey dry skin before I do my makeup.

Re: dry/acne skin/peels

I have the same problem and I haven’t found anything that’s solved the peeling issue on my nose and brow brows, but I use Sunday Riley vitamin c moisturizer, it makes my skin feel really hydrated at least!

Re: dry/acne skin/peels

I feel so qualified to type this while I have a volcano forming on my forehead but to be honest, my skin usually behaves really well for me.

I have very dry and reactive skin, not in the sense that I break out but because if I use anything with fragrance or essential oils my skin gets a little tight.  So I err on the side of caution.

I love to exfoliate.  I find my skin always looks so much brighter after getting off that initial layer of dead skin cells.  If I were to steer someone in the direction of their first treatment, I'd suggest Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare 20th Anniversary Ultra Gentle Daily Peel peels.  It comes with two wipes, one full of acid and then one with a neutralizer.  I'm very close with my esthetician and she may or may not be twisting my little achy arm to try the Dermalogica Hydro Masque Exfoliant 1.7 oz/ 50 mL which is quickly taking the industry by storm.  Another unpopular option is that physical exfoliants are not all that bad if you avoid big scrubby bits.  My skin loves the Caudalie Gentle Buffing Cream which has honey so it could combat some of the breakouts a little bit.

Where it's easy for my face to feel like it's overdone quickly, I usually shift my focus towards exfoliating toners.  I really like my experience with the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner 5.07 oz/ 150 mL .  It has a thicker texture and a pleasant smell, PHAs have a bigger molecular weight than BHAs so it's usually less irritating.  My holygrail will forever be tarte Knockout Tingle Treatment Toner 5 oz/ 150 mL but be warned, it does burn and smells less than awesome.

Re: dry/acne skin/peels

Hi @Jhenjhen1 ! I love SEPHORA COLLECTION All Day Hydrator - Hydrate & Glow 1.69oz/ 50mL for dry skin. It has Hyaluronic Acid which draws moisture from the air to your skin 💧I love Kate Somerville EradiKate Daily Cleanser 4 oz/ 120 mL for acne, it is really gentle. I’d also recommend The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Oil Control Serum 2 oz/ 60 mL ti help with hydration and breakouts. I hope this helps! Have a wonderful weekend 😊
