Tinted Moisturizer pilling and separating in T Zone

Over the past 6 months I’ve noticed that whenever I apply my base makeup it makes my skin look super dry- the base makeup pills and separates in my T zone. I use water based skincare and water based makeup products. When I prep my skin for makeup I use:

1. milky toner

2. eye cream

3. moisturizer

I use the Byoma milky toner, Summer Fridays vitamin C eye cream, and the Ordinary moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid. 

should I be using a primer under my base to get an even, non-patchy application? Do I need to change my moisturizer? Does anyone have a holy grail product they love that would help if you’ve had similar issues?

tinted moisturizers I’ve used:

1. Nars- I’ve used this for years and never really had a lot of issues until this past year

2. Rare Beauty tinted moisturizer- didn’t love this because this also separated on my T zone

2. Ilia serum skin tint/foundation - I just bought this yesterday so can’t give a full review of it

@KoreyRosenbach I would try a face primer and test it on your t zone and see if it continues to happen.
