Severely dry face

My face is so dry and flakey, when I put foundation on it looks terrible! I put moisturizer on but I then that clogs my pores and I break out, but if I don't put any on my face is super flaky like dandruff. Help!! What can I do??

When I am super dry and know that it might show up in my make up I use the Peter Thomas Roth firmX peel thing. It's in a silver tube and you put it all over your face let it sit for two minutes and then rub in circles and you see the dead skin fall off your face and it leaves it super smooth!

Which moisturisers have you tried? I have super sensitive skin and most high end moisturisers either eat my face and make the dryness worse or break me out. Even the fragrance free ones. I cleanse with just bioderma - once for the makeup, rinse, and once for the skin. I use ole henrikson Night treatment twice a week to keep my face exfoliated (stings like a son of a gun the first couple times, like, almost sent it back stinging) then it just stopped stinging one day. Twice a week, I use La Roche effeclar duo+ to keep pores nice and clear, but just on my tzone. Everyday, I use a very plain moisturiser called Moisturel from the drug store. . Been using it for years, doesn't break me out. My doc told me to let the serums do the work they do, and let the moisturiser do its basic job of moisturising. I'd obviously do a patch test of everything in a small spot on your face first. And I never, ever, scrub my face. Inflames my skin, breaks me out, patchy dryness, awful! That's my night treatments job.

Look for products with AHA's they will help exfoliate the skin. There are some that are safe for everyday use. Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser is fantastic! See if that step will help with dry flakiness and breakouts. Then use a moisturizer like Belief AquaBomb. It's gel formula, great for combo breakout prone skin, yet you still get lots of hydration without it clogging pores. You can also go into a store and ask a skin expert for guidance too. It's free and they can try products on you! It's so worth it!

Are you exfoliating your skin at lest twice a week?? And also making sure you are using the right cleanser... and use a really good hydrating moisturizer.
