Serum Recs for Dry Skin

I had been using the ordinary hylauronic acid but feel as if I’ve plateaued and my dry skin isn’t feeling any more hydrated, can anyone recommend some hydrating serums for dry sensitive skin? Or perhaps any pointers?

Re: Serum Recs for Dry Skin

@LilianaSunshine  I have mostly-dry combo skin that’s fairly sensitive and quite inflammation-prone. I’ve got a few things you could try:

  • Switch to a more occlusive (water loss preventing) moisturizer. Which moisturizer do you currently use? While I’m at it, what’s the rest of your skincare routine?

  • Apply moisturizer to damp skin. Doesn’t have to be dripping wet; use a hydrating mist or just lightly tap a little water on your face to get it damp. Then immediately apply your moisturizer. This helps seal in hydration instead of dryness.

  • Some replacement hydrating serum options that aren’t very pricey: my skin’s favorites are The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Firmness and Elasticity and The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum; I alternate them throughout the month, though I mostly use the non-copper peptide version. Both versions are loaded with several hydrating/humectant ingredients. Also consider COSRX The 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum: for my skin, it’s not as hydrating as The Ordinary’s 2 peptide serums, but your experience may vary. I do like using it on the rest of my body (I have dry reactive skin all over my body).
