Sahara desert dry

I will begin by saying, I'm not trying to look young. Those days have been and gone. My completion is very dry and I have roseaca on my cheeks, dryer still. Even though I see a dermatologist and have had the treatments, I am not able to find a product that will keep my face hydrated. I've tried creams, gels and products with hyaluronic acid. I've just recently started using Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench along with heavy duty face cream. Any other ideas?

Re: Sahara desert dry

I also have VERY VERY VERY dry skin, and although I have not found a solid routine that keeps me from showing dry patches (particularly in the winter), I do have a collection of moisturizers and oils I use.

The best moisturizer I have found (by far) for my extremely dry skin is the belief The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb. It gave my skin a super hydrate and healthy look, like if I was a beautiful hydrated skin goddess. I even got compliments on my skin.

However, I would still recommend the use of oils, masks and face sheets, as well as localized serums and toners. Also another thing that has helped me is using these products together and also applying more than once a day - I normally apply 2 times, and if very dry multiple times a day.

Also, drinking more water and keeping hydrated helps. Using a humidifier, and lowering the use of heaters/space heaters too. Try to have more moisture in your environment.

Re: Sahara desert dry

@goldentree My skin is naturally dry and on top of that I use a 1% retinol that makes it even drier. I think the best thing I've added to my nightly routine is an oil. I use Josie Maran Argan Oil as the last step of my routine, on top of my night cream. There are plenty of oils to choose from too, I'm sure most people can find one that works for them. Some people use it before their moisturizer as well, I feel there's no wrong way to use it.

Re: Sahara desert dry

I have used oils during the day perhaps night-time would be best.  Thanks for the tip.

Re: Sahara desert dry

@goldentree Not sure if these products will help. I've been using either the Shiseido Pureness Matifying Moisturizer or the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer. The Shiseido one is meant to be more for people with combination to oily skin while the FAB one is more universal. I tend to like the Shiseido one better because it doesn't make me shiny, but if your skin is really on the dry side, FAB might be better for you.

Re: Sahara desert dry

I was checking out your recommendations and they look like they might be helpful. Thank you so much!

Re: Sahara desert dry

I also use face mask sheets that are meant for hydrating the skin 🙂 The Face Shop has amazing sheet masks that are very affordable.
