Which products best suits for dry skin as a moisturizer

Re: Recommendations

@Minu32 I've been using Aestura moisturizer for the most part. It's relatively inexpensive and works really well for my dry skin.  AESTURA ATOBARRIER365 Cream Moisturizer with Ceramides & Niacinamide for Skin Moisture Barrier Repair 2.71 oz / 80 mL

Caudalie VinoHydra Deep Hydration Moisturizer 2 oz / 60 ml

Re: Recommendations

@Minu32  I have mostly-dry combo skin: my oily zone’s just on and around my nose. For most of the year, my daily moisturizer is Cerave Moisturizing Lotion and/or a sunscreen during day. Most sunscreens contain at least one good moisturizing ingredient, so they can pull double duty as a facial moisturizer.

In winter, I usually switch to Cerave Moisturizing Cream or Vanicream Moisturizing Cream because they contain petrolatum, the most occlusive (water loss preventing) skincare ingredient on the market (aside from hydrocolloid patches). Heck, sometimes I’ll even apply a thin layer of petrolatum-based balm: Aquaphor and Cerave are my faves for this, but Vaseline also works. I just prefer the texture of the other two, and they contain hydrating ingredients Vaseline doesn’t.

If I need to soften dry flakes/patches, I use a facial oil under my moisturizer. The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL is a good one for this. So is Byoma Hydrating Recovery Oil.

When my skin’s irritated or throws a flare tantrum, I use my Aveeno Skin Relief body lotion on my face. It contains petrolatum and soothing oats. Or sometimes I use Aveeno Eczema Therapy lotion or cream as a face moisturizer for the same reasons.

Re: Recommendations

@Minu32, my skin is usually normal-to-dry (to very dry in winter) most of the year (combo in summer months). Here are a few face moisturizers that have worked for me, at different price points. The price points are based on the standard size for the product; some of these products have mini versions that for most will fall under $25:

Under $25:

  • SEPHORA COLLECTION Nourishing Moisturizer for Skin Barrier

Between $25 - $50:

  • Rhode Barrier Butter Intensive Balm (it's too new a product to Sephora to tag at the moment) - this is my current evening moisturizer
  • Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream - my daytime moisturizer
  • AESTURA ATOBARRIER365 Cream Moisturizer with Ceramides & Niacinamide for Skin Moisture Barrier Repair 2.71 oz / 80 mL
  • Farmacy Honey Halo Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer 1.7 oz/ 50 mL

Over $50:

  • Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream Plumping & Hydrating Refillable Moisturizer
  • Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream with TFC8® Face Moisturizer
