Ole henriksen truth serum

Hey guys I’m trying an ole Hendrickson truth serum sample and have really try sensitive acne prone skin. I put it on tonight and it made my dry patches burn so bad for about 2minutes, is this normal?? Does anyone have rants or raves about it, especially compared to your skin type and needs usually? Thanks so much in advance!

@lexxamarie I'm sorry that you're not enjoying the serum very much. I actually absolutely love it! I have relatively normal skin, though, so maybe that makes a difference. This particular serum seems to just work for me and my skin literally just drinks it up within seconds after application! It's crazy. However, I know that there are a lot of individuals who are just generally a little bit more sensitive to products containing vitamin C, which is obviously one of the primary selling points of this serum, but have you used very many other skincare items that contain vitamin C as a primary ingredient, just for comparison?

It dries my skin out too. I think it may be for more oily types, so I just use it on my acne because it dries it up well. It also broke me out in hives when I used it all over my face!

That's odd! I have dry sensitive acne skin and I love it, without it my face is so red!

Where exactly are your dry patches?

 Burning is never normal (tingling can be normal) and may indicate either an allergy or that the product is too potent for your skin.  You can try diluting it in another face cream before applying it and see if that helps. If not then you most likely have an allergy to an ingredient or a sensitivity to vitamin c.  @lexxamarie

I have used the truth serum for years and love it.  It’s brightening, fades freckles and gives the skin a nice glow.

It was just in two places, on my cheek bones just under my eyes beside my nose on both sides. I used it last night everywhere else and didn’t wake up with any breakouts but thank you for that idea! I definitely will try mixing it to see. I’ve head so many people loving it now so really want it to work for me as well!! Never even thought about the vitamin C being too potent so thank you for the reply!
