Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

Spoiler

Heyy! I’m hoping I can get some help with this product. I’ve been using this foundation for about a week now but I’ve noticed that it starts to separate and look cakey after a while. I have naturally dry skin and I do prep my face before putting on makeup but I’m not sure if I’m doing anything wrong. This is my skin care routine:

Caudalie Grape Water Moisturizing Face Mist

Byoma Hydrating Milky Toner

Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Elf SKIN Suntouchable Whoa Glow SPF 30

And then I go in with the foundation and layer it with Tarte concealer and Huda Beauty loose power and set it with Elf Stay All Night Micro-Fine Setting Mist. Can I please get some tips to help me? Thank you!

Re: Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

Hi! So this foundation is silicone based. Which means you'd want to pair it with silicone-based skincare and skin prep.

  • Caudalie Grape Water - water based (should be fine with the foundation if patted down or fully absorbed)
  • Byoma Toner - water based but with emollients (including an oil), which could be the culprit
  • Cerave Lotion - water based with a silicone ingredient but should not interfere with foundation if not overapplied.

It is important to also let skin prep and primers dry in between layering, and of course let the foundation really soak in before you apply powders and cream products! Let me know if you'd want any suggestions for silicone based products that pair well with the foundation.

Thank you so much for replying! I already returned the foundation though. However, if you have any suggestions for foundation suitable for dry skin I would love to hear back! I feel like most foundations I’ve tried ended up looking cakey on my face. I would love suggestions for high ends or drugstore products. Thank you!
