Moisturizer for skin under a beard?

Hey there, I’ve been looking for a solution to this for a while, so any help is very appreciated. I’ve tried beard oils and various hydrating sprays, but I can’t seem to moisturize the skin under my short beard. 

I’m on tretinoin 0.05 and have been for a while. My skin has tolerated it well and I’ve found a moisturizer that really helps on most of my face. The problem is the tretinoin spreads across to the skin under my beard and causes tons of flaking. I can’t seem to find a lightweight moisturizer that can effectively get under my beard — the moisturizer I use for my face is pretty thick. Are there any recommendations or really lightweight moisturizer that might get to the skin under my beard?

@dialga I get my husband to use Cerve moisturizing cream for his face and he just rubs it onto his face despite the beard, but at night.  It is a thicker cream but works well. 
a lightweight hydrating moisturizer that would sink in easier is belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb with Peptide and Ceramide, it’s really great for dry skin and the light viscosity will definitely make it easier to reach the skin under your beard.
