Hydrating concealers??

I need help finding a hydrating concealer, everything I use clings to dry patches and separates. I am currently using the hourglass vanish airbrush concealer and it creases very badly. Just looking for some recommendations please!!

Re: Hydrating concealers??

Hey I'd love to help with this problem that you have I also have a really dry skin I found this concealer and I'm glued to it it's called Maybelline is the brand and it's just there concealer and it's really really hydrating unfortunately it's not a Sephora but you can find it at drug stores such as Walmart Dollar Generals and maybe even Ulta it is a dupe for the Nars that I think it's way better.

Re: Hydrating concealers??

@JuliaJackson  How do you prep your undereye skin before you apply concealer (what’s your skincare routine)? You may need to tweak that first to better address your dry skin.

I always use my full face moisturizer under my eyes (applied while skin’s damp, not fully dried down). In warm weather, I don’t often use a second moisturizer/“eye cream” between that and sunscreen. But this month, a friend asked me about using Aquaphor Lip Repair Stick as eye cream to stop cakey concealer. I don’t like that lip balm (I love plain ol’ Aquaphor Ointment and use that instead as my daily lip balm), but I do like Aquaphor Healing Balm Stick which contains petrolatum, shea butter, and avocado oil. So I tried the Healing Stick Balm under my eyes instead: finger-applied it, then sunscreen, then concealer. It worked great! You may want to try that, or something like it.

As for concealers, here are the ones I use most often on my very dry (but well prepped) and prominently wrinkled undereyes:

I almost always use By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder (the translucent, loose, and “8x/8HA” reformulated version) to set my concealer. I use just a teeny tiny amount and don’t bake. I loved the original version of this powder, and the reformulation’s just as good. There are other, possibly less expensive hydrating setting powders out there, though. By Terry does sell this powder in a mini jar, which is a good way to try it—especially since you’ll probably need just a tiny bit each use.

And about creasing: ALL concealers crease. There’s no such thing as “creaseless concealer” unless you have no (or very shallow) lines under your eyes. I minimize creasing by applying concealer, waiting 2-5 minutes, checking to see if it’s begun to pool in my lines, and then gently buff out anything that’s pooled before setting with powder. You can also try using a setting spray instead of (or in addition to) powder: apply setting spray before and after concealer. Some folks swear by eyeshadow primer under the eye to grip concealer; I don’t like doing that because of the way my skin may react to it, but your results may vary.
