Hand eczema treatments?

I have hand eczema on both of my ring fingers; the blisters tend to let up during the summer months and flare up in winter. However, my finger has been cracking and bleeding lately and the hand creams I usually use aren't helping. I've used Prevex B to treat the condition, but find it very unwieldy because it's so slippery and doesn't dry. Which non-prescription products would you recommend?

Re: Hand eczema treatments?

If you're not using an otherwise good product because it's slippery and doesn't dry, have you tried putting it on underneath thin cotton gloves? That would let you both use the product and go about your day fairly normally. I believe they're usually sold under the name of "moisturizing gloves", and they were pretty inexpensive last time I checked.

Re: Hand eczema treatments?

I have those gloves, but with so many of my devices being controlled by touch it's hard to work with them. Also, I keep taking them off in my sleep. 😂

Also,

DERMUD INTENSIVE HAND CREAM by AHAVA

Softens and smoothes dry, cracked hands for immediate relief and comfort.

I have this same issue and I have tried a few different remedies. First, the eczema lotion/cortizone (red bottle)you can get OTC is absolutely amazing. Also, I bought a hand & body salt scrub with oils in it and would use this lightly to put back some oils into my hand. I have found both of these techniques to be useful. You can use ones like "One Minute Hand Scrub" by Loccitane.

Re: Hand eczema treatments?

If you have dyshidrotic eczema then the only treatment that will effectively treat a flare up is a steroidal cream; I get triamcinolone acetonide cream when my eczema flares up. I also keep my skin well hydrated with Neutrogena Swiss Formula Hand Cream while avoiding overexposure to water.
