Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

I have pretty dry skin and a LOT of redness so full coverage is what I'm looking for, but from what I've seen most foundations that are full coverage are also for oily skin types and very drying. So any reccomendations would be appreciated (wide shade range would be a bonus lol)

RE: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

Estée Lauder Double Wear has become my go to. I'm currently using Accutane so my face is more on the dry side. It has a natural finish and medium to full coverage. I use Cliniques' moisture surge intense as my moisturizer so that helps with my dryness. And I use Estée Lauder primer the smoother. I find the primer and foundation together are a match in heaven.

Re: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

I've recently started using The Ordinary's coverage foundation and the coverage is extraordinary for how thin and luminous the actual foundation is! It's not drying at all and doesn't look cakey or feel thick!

RE: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

Try barepro by bare minerals. It's not full, but it's very buildable and it treats your skin as well. I have redness too and use a color correct moisturizer and stila color correct

RE: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

The tarte Amazonian clay foundation is amazing and super full coverage, I love it!

Re: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

Hi Anne I love the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ cream. It gives great coverage and add moisture to your skin. I have 2 shades and I'm loving how it works with my skin. There is also SPF in it! win win!

Re: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

I'm a fan of the new Besame stick foundation! It isn't too expensive so you may want to give it a try

Re: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

@annekew I have combo skin with dry patches and I love Too Faced Born This Way. It gives buildable full coverage and a natural finish 😄 I've had no issues with it drying my skin out or anything.

RE: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

It CC cream works for me. I use the Light color for all over face and use the Medium tone for my cheeks to cover hyper-pigmentation. Great coverage and hides discoloration without drying you out and still looks like natural skin! I hope that helps! Hugs!!!

RE: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

I've been using Josie Maran's Vibrance foundation for a while and it's amazing for dry skin. It's also surprisingly full coverage and buildable without looking too heavy.

Definitely between the IT Cosmetics CC cream or the Tarte Amazonian Clay! I have the Giorgio Armani luminous silk which is amazing! However, I would go for a CC cream when my face feels dry since it has moisturizer inside.

RE: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

You'll love the Tarte Rainforest of the sea foundation! It covers and it's super lightweight so it doesnt really feel like its even on your face. It's water based so I believe it hydrates.

Re: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

If you are open to a drugstore option I'd recommend checking out the Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation. Just as a reference I also have dry skin and redness to cover! I find using a moisturizing primer or a primer oil underneath then applying this foundation with a beauty blender gives a nice full coverage but not too heavy looking on the skin.

RE: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

I have exactly the same issue. Marc Jacobs Remarcable is the best thing I have found so far. I am also looking for one that is full coverage & for dry skin & doesn't accentuate wrinkles & STAYS ON IN HOT & HUMID WEATHER. Yes I am asking for a miracle.

Re: RE: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

I second the Marc Jacobs ReMarcable foundation! I swear it'll cover ANYTHING, and you only need the tiniest bit, so don't let the price dissuade you. I need a LOT of coverage and it lasts me a good 4-6 months and I wear it everyday. Another one I love is Nars Sheer Glow, even with the word "sheer" in the name, it is very buildable and dives a nice dewey look - which won't dry out the skin.

I would recommend tarte's Amazonian clay foundation, with a drop or two of your fave beauty oil mixed in. I add maracuja oil, and it helps the foundation glide over the skin, and keeps it from clinging to dry patches. Their hybrid gel foundation is great, too, and it doesn't need anything added to it.

Re: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream is probably the fullest coverage foundation I own and use. It's my winter foundation when my skin feels a bit drier, and I'm very happy with it. There are only 5 or 6 shades however... But they are pretty forgiving so each shade has a pretty good range.

Re: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

@annekew I've heard good things about Cover FX.  I've also seen demonstrations on QVC for IT Cosmetics and they are impressive.  Dermablend was the go-to one back in the day, and Ulta still sells it.  Good luck!

Re: Full Coverage Foundation Recommendations?

Have you tried color correcting?  I also have redness but otherwise clear skin and find that a color correcting primer or concealer underneath a BB Cream or even Tinted Moisturizer works very well.
