First aid beauty or drunk elephant

Ok I love both but what do guys think. Which one do you think is better?

Re: First aid beauty or drunk elephant

@dryfacealways  Which one's better depends a lot on your particular skin, since we don't all have the same skin issues, conditions, behaviors, and sensitivities. I mean, most of my face is dry (I have mostly-dry combo skin) but I also have a couple of specific skin conditions I'm treating, plus my skin's quite reactive/inflammation-prone and hates certain ingredients. Folks whose skin doesn't like marula oil probably won't like Drunk Elephant since several of their products contain it. Also, there's no single brand whose entire skincare product line I can use. Drunk Elephant and First Aid Beauty are no exception.

That said, my skin's had better luck with FAB than DE. Some DE products ( Drunk Elephant F-Balm™ Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask 1.69 oz/ 50 mL  , the original version of  Drunk Elephant C-Firma Fresh Vitamin-C Day Serum .94 oz/ 28 mL  ,  Drunk Elephant Sweet Pitti™ Deodorant Cream 2.0 oz/ 60 mL  ) simply didn't deliver on their claims. ) Others caused reactions in my skin ranging from excessive dryness, milia, and/or rash ( Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Firming Refillable Moisturizer  , Drunk Elephant Beste™ No. 9 Jelly Cleanser 5 oz/ 150 mL  , Drunk Elephant C-Tango™ Vitamin C Eye Cream 0.5 oz/ 15 mL  ) to full-blown red raw scaly burns ( Drunk Elephant Pekee™ Cleansing Bar 4 oz/ 120 g  ). In fact, the only DE products I feel safe using are Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Nourishing Whipped Refillable Moisturizer  and one or both of their AHA exfoliants.

On the FAB side, under-delivering products include First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Cream Intense Hydration – Face and Body Moisturizer for Skin Repair  , First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer 1.7 oz/ 50 mL  , and First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy. FAB used to make a colloidal oat serum my skin liked a lot, and I wonder why they discontinued it. I also like their First Aid Beauty KP Smoothing Body Lotion with 10% AHA 6 oz/ 170 g  , and I liked their very gentle First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads with Glycolic + Lactic Acids – Exfoliating Pads with AHA  and First Aid Beauty FAB Skin Lab Retinol Serum 0.25% Pure Concentrate 1 oz/ 30 mL back when I was brand new to AHA exfoliants and vitamin A. I think I used to use their First Aid Beauty 10% Vitamin C Brightening Serum 1.7 oz / 50 mL  too... I'm not sure about that now. I'm not a big fan of First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser – Gentle Hydrating Cleanser 11 oz/ 325 mL  : it was a bit too drying for my skin.

Looking at this solely from a brand identity perspective, I definitely prefer First Aid Beauty. Drunk Elephant has a history of mistreating their customers and being rabidly defensive of their products, no matter how small the criticism. Also, DE's whole "don't use our products with any other brand's products or they won't work" thing is one of the most ridiculous marketing scams I've seen from a skincare brand. If your cleanser, hyaluronic acid serum, or moisturizer is really deactivated or made ineffective by another brand's product, then you need to reformulate your own products, DE. 😂 Both DE and FAB unfortunately push the "clean beauty" marketing scheme, so they get equally dinged for that. Eh, DE might push it harder.

I'm personally a drunk elephant lover. Although FAB has some great products, too!
