Extremely dry t zone

IMG_20190325_175450.jpg

Someone please help me!!!!! This is so annoying and embarrassing 😭😭 I've been dealing with a dry Tzone for years now! It is the worst on my chin! But around my mouth, the creases of my nose, and forehead get pretty dry too!! It seems to get worse as the weather gets warmer!! Any and all products and face washes I have tried has made it worse!! It is literally impossible to wear makeup because it flakes soooooooo bad it just looks horrible!! This picture isn't even half as bad as it gets!

Re: Extremely dry t zone

@jennag216 Has your T zone been dry even before you started trying products? What products have you tried? Any sensitivities/allergies? Your skin was probably telling you that it's irritated and didn't like at least one of the ingredients in the products you tried.

Try going for a gentle, hydrating routine and start with finding a cleanser and moisturizer that your skin likes and patch test them to check for any reactions. Best to avoid AHAs and BHAs in the beginning. If you don't know what your skin is sensitive to, go fragrance-free, essential oil-free, and alcohol-free (the non-fatty alcohols like denat/sd alcohol, etc.). Here are some examples:

Cleanser:

Cerave Hydrating Cleanser

First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser – Gentle Hydrating Cleanser 5 oz/ 150 mL

Hada Labo Rohto Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Facial Cleanser

Skinfix Barrier+ Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser 6 oz/ 177 mL

Hydrating toner/layers (if you need more moisture):

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Hydrating Serum - Apply on damp face

Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid Lotion - Apply on damp face, then quickly apply moisturizer or next products in your routine

THE ORDINARY - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA - More like a light cream. Can apply alone or before your main moisturizer

Moisturizer:

Cerave Moisturizing Cream for Normal to Dry Skin

Cerave PM

CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

First aid beauty

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer

Facial oils (squalane oil, maracuja oil, marula oil, rosehip seed oil, etc. not to be confused with essential oils) - can be used alone, mixed into moisturizer, 1-3 drops for face

Skinfix

Re: Extremely dry t zone

@Anonymous have you tried an oil cleanser with some kind of exfoliating toner (for the flakes) and maybe an oil to layer over your moisturizer? When I had this problem (it lasted MONTHS) What ended up being the fix was a light exfoliator (I ended up with Aveda's, but the Ordinary has a glycolic toner here that's comparable) and a richer moisturizer for nights.

Best of luck!
