Extremely Dry Exfoliating Lips

I take several medications that are extremely drying. As a result, my lips always exfoliate to the extent that the skin there becomes covered with skin to the extent that I wipe off a layer of skin that is thicker than any lip balm or lipstick.  It especially builds up at the corners of my mouth. Sometimes I get fungal infections from this. This isn’t a winter problem and it builds up several times every day, year round.  Lately I’ve been using the#Tatcha The Kissu Lip Scrub. Then I apply various Types of lip balm - mainly commercial, or brands Sephora doesn’t carry. I apply lanolin to them before I brush my teeth.

Any suggestions? I use warm water and wash cloths to clean off the excess skin most of the time, unless I’m out if the house and use either tissues, a handkerchief or whatever I can find.

Hi lovely. From what I understand, your new medication is drying your skin out and your main concerns are your lips and around your mouth.

What I recommend is a very good and gently cream cleanser like Drunk Elephant Mello Marula Cream Cleanser with 1.0% Colloidal Oatmeal 5 oz / 150 mL  

the Collodial Oatmeal is going to help smooth the dry skin while the cream base is going to help hydrate your skin. After cleansing you can incorporate a hyaluronic acid serum that with further your skins hydration, this can be used on the lips as well (Pro tip: use this serum while the face is still wet). Lastly, you can follow up with moisturizer/ SPF. I would recommend the Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30 4.2 oz / 125 ml  

For Lip specific products. You can try the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C
