EXFOLIATION

so... I have tried almost all exfoliants. Physical, chemical, etc. I was starting to do an AHA/BHA peel twice a week instead of a physical scrub because I know it can spread bacterial acne... but then I was watching a Dr. Barbara Sturm video and she said that chemical exfoliants can strip dead skin cells but it can also take good skin cells. She said the perfect balance is an Enzyme cleanser because it strips dead skin cells but leaves good ones in-tact. So now I am just struggling to find the right kind of exfoliant for myself. I have dry, acne-prone skin, I am a 21 year old man. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

Re: EXFOLIATION

@TheBigKahuna17 peels with fruit enzymes are pretty gentle and still give you some exfoliation.

RE: EXFOLIATION

I think it all depends on how regularly you’re exfoliating. Unless you have very specific skin concerns, you probably don’t need to exfoliate (chemically or otherwise) more than once or twice a week. I use the Mario Badesco enzyme cleanser (pretty affordable) like once a week and an AHA resurfacing serum like twice a week at most
