Allergic to Hyaluronic Acid?!

Recently, I realized that I may be allergic/ have a sensitivity to hyaluronic acid. Some products make my skin tingle to where it feels like it’s burning my face. The only thing these products have in common is hyaluronic acid. And it seems like all the popular moisturizing skincare products all have hyaluronic acid. Does anyone have any recommendations for products that don’t have hyaluronic acid as an ingredient. (I’m specifically looking for a moisturizing facial cleanser, moisturizer, and makeup removing wipes.)

Hi @lalalavon, you're right, many hydrating or moisturizing products contain a form of hyaluronic acid, but there are good products out there that do not. I think the following products are made without hyaluronic acid or derivatives of it, but you should check the ingredients for yourself to make sure that is the case.

Moisturizing Facial Cleanser - I double cleanse so I use an oil based cleanser for my first cleanse and a water based cleanser for second one. I'll just list them here for you to determine if any of them would be of interest to you and suitable to your cleansing needs.

• Oil-based cleansers - either CLINIQUE Take The Day Off™ Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm 3.8 oz/ 125 mL  - I've lost count of how many tubs of this I've been through or Tatcha The Camellia Oil 2-in-1 Makeup Remover & Cleanser 5.1 oz/ 150 mL - a staple for me in the winter months.
• Water-based cleansers - either Youth To The People Superfood Gentle Antioxidant Refillable Cleanser 8 oz / 237 ml  or KORRES - Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser (usually in the fall/winter).

Moisturizer - BELIF - The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb is a lightweight gel-cream moisturizer that does a nice job of keeping my skin hydrated and moisturized.

Makeup Removing Wipes - I don't have a good rec for you for cleansing wipes. I use Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Cleansing Water and cotton pads to remove my makeup and, if I need something specifically for my waterproof mascara, I like MAKE UP FOR EVER - Sens’Eyes - Waterproof Sensitive Eye Cleanser Mini.
