Setting powders

What are your favorite sunscreen products that Are black girl friendly and non white cast residue??

Re: Setting powders

Hi @hildalys ! Are you looking for setting powders or sunscreens? Or both?

Sunscreen: Is there a particular type of finish (matte, naturally radiant/skin-like, glowy, super dewy/glass skin) you prefer?

Any non-tinted chemical sunscreen should be 100% invisible on all skin tones. A popular and reliable option is Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++ 1.7 oz/ 50 mL which I frequently use, especially around my sensitive eyes. The texture's quite siliconey, but that doesn't bother my mostly-dry combo skin. The finish is natural and skin-like, with a moderate blurring effect on the visible pores in my oily zone. If you want a dewy/glowy finish, I've been loving the OMI Verdio UV Moisture Essence SPF 50: it comes out of the tube white but quickly and easily blends out clear. You can find this Japanese sunscreen at places like YesStyle, Stylevana, and maybe Amazon.

As for mineral sunscreens, I'm still looking for a new favorite. (My old faves were discontinued.) A tinted mineral sunscreen I like a lot is Saie Sunvisor Radiant Moisturizing Face Sunscreen SPF 35 1.35 oz/ 40 mL . I didn't think the universal tint would work on me at all (I'm in the "medium-deep to deep" shade range of most brands), but it does, even on my large areas of hyperpigmentation. If your local Sephora has it in stock and has a tester available, see if the tint works for you. On me, it leaves a radiant and slightly glowy finish.

CoTZ makes several mineral sunscreens you can find at Ulta (if you're in the US). I like their sensitive skin sunscreen, though it's a bit greasy feeling for me. I use it mostly on my neck (including the back of my neck if it's exposed), chest, and any exposed skin on my calves, ankles, and feet.

Dermstore makes a good tinted mineral sunscreen called Dermstore Collection Daily Mineral Sunscreen. This is another "universal" tint that works for me, and it's very easy to blend out. It leaves more of a matte finish.

If you want an extra dewy "glass skin" finish: CanMake Mermaid Skin Gel UV (the clear version) is a hybrid chemical + mineral sunscreen that comes out of the tube white but blends out 100% invisible. This is another Japanese brand available at Stylevana, YesStyle, and Amazon. Probably elsewhere, too. I don't use it often because I don't always want to look so shiny, but if that's the look you want, this sunscreen will do it.
