SUNSCREEN FOR DARK SKIN

Does anyone have any physical sunscreen recommendations for darker skin tone that doesnt show up as a white cast? I prefer physical sunscreen instead of chemical.

RE: SUNSCREEN FOR DARK SKIN

Iโ€™m a huge fan of EltaMD broad spectrum UV clear SPF46 which you can buy on amazon, Dermstore, or the brandโ€™s website. I love that sunscreen specifically for my darker complexion because it doesnโ€™t leave a white cast, it contains niacinamide which helps lighten dark spots/hyperpigmentation, and it also has lactic acid to improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains no fragrance so it wonโ€™t be irritating if you have sensitive skin. Iโ€™m a beauty blogger and I recently wrote a post on the 7 mineral sunscreens Iโ€™ve personally tested that wonโ€™t leave a white cast (which some you can purchase at Sephora), but as much as I love Sephora, EltaMD is still my holy grail lol. Iโ€™ll link my post below if you want to check it out, but donโ€™t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions on my recommendations! https://www.southasianskin.com/blog/mineral-sunscreens-that-wont-give-you-a-white-cast

RE: SUNSCREEN FOR DARK SKIN

Black Girl Sunscreen at Target is really good. It doesnโ€™t leave white residue as other sunscreens, so it really complements deeper hue skin. Especially chocolate skin.

Thank you for the reply. That one is on my list to try.

Hi @liqueen!

Shiseido has a clear stick one but I'm not sure if it's physical or chemical.  Shiseido Clear Stick UV Protector WetForce Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50+

Thank you for the recommendation. I like to have a couple of sunscreens on hand so I'll check it out.

Re: SUNSCREEN FOR DARK SKIN

@liqueen  The only physical sunscreens that are truly 100% invisible on my deeper skin tone are some of the CoTZ sunscreens (this brand specializes in mineral sunscreens; you can find them at Ulta) and Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Sheer Mineral Sun Spray Sunscreen SPF 50 4 oz  . To use The DDG sunscreen on your face: shake the bottle, spray into your hand, rub your hands together, and then rub your face for magically invisible mineral sunscreen.

I have mostly-dry combo skin and the DDG sunscreen works better for me than CoTZ, which tends to be a bit greasy on my oily zone. But CoTZ does make fantastic sunscreens.

Thank you. I love Dr. Gross products.
