finding the best concealer

What is your all-time favorite concealer, so far from Sephora I've tried the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer with Medium Coverage  and the Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid  and havent been so impressed with either. For the Kosas concealer it is too dry and cakey on me. I need a moisturizing and heavy coverage concealer for my dark circles that doesn't appear cakey. What are your recommendations? A good setting powder would also help!

Re: finding the best concealer

@yLola I used to love the Nars concealer years ago when it first came out. I then switched over to   tarte shape tape™ concealer  before finally finding the holy grail of concealers which is Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Longwear Concealer Natural Beige . Funnily enough the Too Faced concealer I received as gratis from Sephora to test and review and I have not used another concealer since. It is high coverage, moisturizing and when set with a good powder, lasts all day and doesn't cake or crease on me. If you haven't already tried it, I highly suggest you give it a shot and see if it works for you as great as it does for me.

Thank you, I’ll put it on my list!

Re: finding the best concealer

@yLola  It's best to rely on skincare products to hydrate and moisturize your undereyes, rather than makeup. I mean, I understand not wanting a drying concealer. I'm just saying, don't depend on any concealer to act as a moisturizer. My undereye skin is normally very dry. I have textured (bumpy) tear troughs, and that skin's sunken which creates "dark circles" that are really just shadows in my case. I make sure to hydrate that skin (and the rest of my face) very well. Some days, in addition to my usual moisturizer, I use a thin layer Aquaphor Ointment or CeraVe Healing Ointment as an "eye cream" for the best occlusive moisturization, especially on subzero windy winter days.

For my particular skin, cream stick concealers seem to work best. My current favorite full-coverage concealer is Jouer Cosmetics Essential High Coverage Concealer Pen . I also love the Cle de Peau stick concealer (both the old and new formulas), but I advise warming that stick up on the back of your hand before applying to your face. Sometimes I'll even mix a tiny bit of Aquaphor into the CdP concealer to make it creamier.

I recently tried KVD Beauty Good Apple Lightweight Full-Coverage Concealer Tan 164  (can't tag without a specific shade; I mix 2 shades for a custom match) and it sits well on my skin, as long as I've hydrated and moisturized my undereyes well. This concealer dries down to a brightening finish, so it's worth swatching some testers on your hand in person to see how each shade ends up.

My favorite setting powder is By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder (translucent loose version). I also like Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Refillable Setting Powder  but it doesn't set concealer nearly as well as the By Terry powder, at least not with the same teeny tiny amount of By Terry I need.
