bb cream or primer?

my *cheap* bb cream feels like too much gunk on my face. does anyone else use primer alone? or recommend a SUPER lightweight bb cream or tinted moisturizer that wont break the bank?

I hear you on the thick/goopy consistency of a lot of BB's. Not sure what your budget is, but I've used (and liked) the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer SPF 30. That one goes for $37 for a 1oz tube. I was able to get the travel size last year, and it lasted me most of the summer - so it goes a pretty long way.

I've also used (and liked) the Origins GinZing SPF 40 Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturizer. That one is $38 for 1.7 oz.

Both of those are more lightweight than a lot of BB's I've tried - plus they have a pretty good dose of SPF.
