Translucent pressed setting powder for dry skin?

Looking for a pressed, setting powder. No loose powder! Translucent, as I am super fair. For dry, aging skin. But more on a matte side if possible. Not brutally matte, but not with a lot of shine, sparkle, pearl, glow in it. I don't like to emphasize some acne scars that I have on my cheeks. And those shiny ones, of course, do just that. Semi-matte or satin finish, I guess. Something that will not emphasize any possible dry patches, settle in pores and/or fine lines, or suck the moisture right out of my skin making it look like a desert. With dunes. And something that will make skin look smoother, imperfections diffused. Is there such magical thing out there?

( I am looking just for a powder. Skincare, the rest of the makeup, and makeup prep already in place and working. )

Re: Translucent pressed setting powder for dry skin?

@Skunk12puzzola @WinglessOne Thank you so much! Those are some wonderful suggestions! The loose one included! If you say it works better, I am gonna have to give it a try. It's just that I apply my powders ( and foundations ) with a beauty blender ( gently pressing into the skin, and rolling from side to side if necessary ), because it works way better for me than any brush. It gives my skin the best finish. No brush ( or technique ) has ever manage to do so for me, so I gave up on applying powders/foundations with brushes. And it is easier to use a bb with pressed powders. With loose powders it's a bit of a mess, and not the same results. Not sure why. Maybe I don't have the amount of the powder right. Using too much, or maybe too little. As I'm not used to loose powders. Or maybe it's just not doable. Who knows. But! Maybe some practice would make it all better. We'll see! Ready to play! 😛

Hi @RavenR , take a look at these ones: By Terry hyaluronic hydra pressed powder and Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Refillable Setting Powder

Re: Translucent pressed setting powder for dry skin?

@Skunk12puzzola @RavenR  By Terry Hyaluronic Pressed Hydra-Powder would also be my first recommendation. I don't find it sets concealer as well as the original (translucent) loose version of this powder, aka best setting powder ever for my dry undereye skin. But some folks prefer the pressed version. You can get a $20 USD travel size direct from the brand; Dermstore might also sell the travel size. I don't use the pressed version nearly as often as the loose powder version, but I know it takes me years to get through a full size jar of the loose version. 😂 I need just the teeniest amount to set my concealer all day—such a tiny amount, you barely see it on my brush. I need more of the pressed version to get similar results, but I still think the travel size could last a good long while.

I also like the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush pressed powder, though it doesn't perform as well for me as either of By Terry's powders. Kinda unfair to compare CT's pressed powder to BT's rockstar loose powder, though. For me, CT's powder works best if I press and roll a brush across the compact before applying to my face. I end up doing that for BT's pressed powder too... I guess that's just how pressed powders perform better for me overall. I'm much more a loose powder fan, though.

I wish Jouer Cosmetics Radiant Soft Focus Hydrate + Set Powder Radiant Translucent performed well enough for me to regularly use. It doesn't make my undereyes a desert, but it also lags behind the previously mentioned powders when it comes to locking makeup in place.

I hope you find a product that works for you!
