Hi, @sreordered.  I can understand the need to blot.  I have combo/oily skin.  I use the paper towels in the women's room or a tissue.  The product information doesn't say how big the blotting sheets are.  The powder is inside the puff, thus, you can't launder the puff.  It also doesn't indicate if the powder is oil absorbing.  Since the first ingredient is mica, it will be shiny.  If you have your heart set on getting this kit, it won't be a waste of money.  You'll definitely get use out of the case, blotting sheets, and mirror.

If it were me, I would get a pressed powder compact that absorbs oil (with puff and mirror in lid) and blotting sheets.
