Setting Sprays

Okay so I have a serious question, can I use a hydrating setting spray on my face and then use a alcohol setting spray on top of that one? My alcohol setting spray is a good setting spray but it doesnโ€™t hydrate my face, but I was wondering if I used the hydrating setting spray underneath it, if that would help hydrate my face and not dry it out.

Re: Setting Sprays

I have dry skin, so I mostly use hydrating setting sprays @Anonymous. The Morphe Continuous Setting Spray is really good, and I also like the MAC Fix+ Spray. Lately, I have also been including a matte spray to help lock in my face for the day when I'm not using a matte foundation.

"Alcohol" and "Alcohol Denat." are the same thing and are not good for your skin, but it is hard to find a matte setting spray without it. I am currently using the Ulta Matte Setting Spray. It also has alcohol, but it's around the 15th ingredient, so I'm okay with that.

I use MAC Fix+ after setting with powder. Then, I use the Morphe Setting Spray after I'm done with my entire face. I end with the Ulta Setting Spray to keep it all in place for the day.

Re: Setting Sprays

@Anonymous what exact sprays are you using/going to use?

You can use  a refresher spray throughout the day, on top. But yes first hydrate/prep the skin before makeup.

Re: Setting Sprays

I want to use a spray that can keep my makeup on a long time during the day without hurting my skin and that nourishes it, while also keeping it matte. I have the pixi setting spray which I really love, but I feel like it doesnโ€™t stay on too long and itโ€™s a glow spray so itโ€™s not matte.

Re: Setting Sprays

@Anonymous The key is to hydrate the face first before you even apply makeup. Then set the face with your setting spray that you like.

Re: Setting Sprays

If your setting spray has alcohol in it, should you continue to use it? I heard certain alcohols are good for your skin but alcohol denat is not.

Re: Setting Sprays

@Anonymous I personally donโ€™t use sprays with alcohol and some girls on here will tell you alcohol in the ingredients is bad for your skin.  Itโ€™s up to personal preference.
