Recommendations for skincare routine- wedding prep

Hey everyone!

Im looking for recommendations concerning wedding day prep (and the months leading up to it) for facial skincare.

What kind of items would you recommend adding to your skincare regimen? Adding in vitamin c or other specific ingredients? Adding in masks or peels? Exfoliating? I currently have combination skin, so I’m just looking for some product recommendations that will keep the skin looking as clear, calm, smooth, and healthy as possible leading up to that special day.

Thanks so much for your help!

Hey @Sabrinahz, congrats on the engagement! I'd love to help, but firstly I'm wondering how far away your wedding is? I would NOT recommend making any drastic changes close to your wedding day, skin takes time to repair and turnover and ingredients like an Acid, Retinol and even Vitamin C require time.

Also if you share what you currently use that would be a helpful starting point for advice.

Re: Recommendations for skincare routine- wedding prep

Hi Aaliaa--

Thank you! The wedding is in the beginning of September, which I understand isn't much time and I should've asked earlier, but any suggestions would be great. I am currently using:

Biossance Squalane Oil (I've recently added this and have been seeing great results, I use this day and night)

Drunk Elephant Protini cream (I use at night)

Drunk Elephant C-tango eye cream (day and night)

Currently looking for a daytime moisturizer with SPF as well

And for cleansing I use an Aveeno gel face wash (works amazing)

Thanks so much!

Re: Recommendations for skincare routine- wedding prep

No issues though with six weeks I would be vary of trying anything too new. I think you could benefit with exfoliation, if you live near a Sephora try picking up a few samples and see what you like.

- Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask to exfoliate twice weekly

- Sunday Riley Good Genes - I use a range of exfoliators but this works amazingly while also giving this amazing glow to your face. If you are only looking to use it for before the wedding, I think they sell a mini-as a duo that would be enough to use a few days a week until the wedding.

- Since you have combo skin you would benefit from a clay mask. Sephora sells some great ones including the Origins Active Charcoal and Tata Harper Clarifying Mask.

If you are considering getting a facial, do so at least 2 weeks before

Hope this helps! @Sabrinahz
