Pigmented Setting Powders

Hi! Should pigmented setting powders match your complexion, or should they be a shade brighter? I’m planning to use it to set my under eye concealer (which is typically a smidge brighter). Thoughts on pigmented vs. translucent? Thanks in advance 🙂

Re: Pigmented Setting Powders

@NewToThis2022 It is really preference. Transluscent is easy and the colored one can alter your foundation shade.  I know back in the day Ben Nye banana powder was popular because of Kim K.  For the colored ones it depends on your skin tone.

@SportyGirly125 thanks so much!!

Re: Pigmented Setting Powders

I would recommend translucent because if it is pigmented and the undertone or the shade is even the slightest bit off it can look a little weird. This is just my opinion but if you do plan on using a pigmented powder i recommend using a pigmented pressed powder as they do not give as much pigment as a loose powder. If you want a brighter under eye then use a brightening pressed power or a lighter universal pigmented loose or pressed powder. Personally my favourite powders are the ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder, and the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Refillable Blurring & Setting Powder. I have not tried the Charlotte Tilbury Refillable Airbrush Flawless Finish Brightening Powder but i have heard that it is a great under eye brightening pressed finishing powder.

Hope this helps.
