Orange Foundation

I’ve been looking for a foundation to match my complexion. I️ am still fairly new to makeup so I’ve compared shades with YouTubers such as Andrea Renee, Jackie Aina and Tiarra Monet. I have a warm undertone but every foundation/tinted moisturizer with the exception of Nars Sheer Glow(Macao/New Guinea) has looked super orange in the bottle and onmyface. I recently tried Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Longwear in 500 Suede W and 520 Suede W as guided by a Sephora employee. Many people wear 500 Suede W and it doesn’t look orange at all so idk of maybe I’m doing something wrong. I have normal/combination skill (oily t zone) and I prefer ”my skin but better” kind of makeup except on special occasions which is why I am looking for a foundation. I wear tinted moisturizer for most days that I wear makeup (1-2 times a week). I am thinking of trying the Becca Ultimate Complexion Creme next in Maple. Any good suggestions?

RE: Orange Foundation

We are about the same color. I like the Fenty 420

RE: Orange Foundation

Your picture definitely looks like you have warm undertones. Unfortunately some companies warm shades are very warm, and their neutral shades are slightly warm. I'd try different undertones just to see how things look. Another helpful tip for me is to try it on, wear it for a little bit, then take a hand mirror someplace with natural light to see how the lighting changes the look on your skin. I don't think you're doing anything wrong... you just need to find your ideal match.

Are you saying that you mix those two nars shades togethe...

Are you saying that you mix those two nars shades together and they don't look orange mixed, or neither of them individually look orange on you? Maybe you are choosing the wrong undertone? Try a neutral undertone instead of warm. The Macao shade is yellow and new guinea is red. Those are two different undertones. What other foundations and shades have you tried?

Re: Are you saying that you mix those two nars shades togethe...

The 500 and 520 Suede W were tried Individually. I went into Sephora today and the Macao actually works for me but I wanted to try Lancôme or Becca. I am not a big makeup person I just started wearing makeup this year so I haven’t try many foundations.  I have the Mac Matchmaster in 7.5 but it’s kinda orange as well so I don’t wear it.
