Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer + Foundation = Patchiness?

I've used the milk makeup hydro grip primer for a while now and noticed that almost every time I use it with my fenty beauty pro filtr matte foundation it comes out really patchy and some areas start to look like they're peeling off. I though maybe the issue was that I wasn't letting the primer set, so I gave it 10 minutes before putting on the foundation and still had same results. I also tried it with em cosmetics cushion foundation and had same issue. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is it the foundations I'm using or is it the primer itself? Help please. Thanks!

You are using a dewy primer with a mattifying foundation. You can only go dewy + dewy, matte + matte. It could also be the base of the foundation/primer. It could be silicone or water based. Again, you need to match similar ingredients so they'll blend properly.
