Lightening makeup products/tips

Hello, I'm searching for products/tips that can lighten makeup/foundation. I have pale skin which makes me prone to purchasing makeup that ends up being too dark for me. I also can end up applying too much makeup, such as blush, bronzer, etc. Anything that can lighten up my skin and help it appear more natural is what I want. Even if it's just a product intended for lightening just foundation, I'm happy to hear such suggestions. I shop cruelty free and I don't mind products outside of Sephora. Thanks:)

Re: Lightening makeup products/tips

Hello, @tryingmybest123

I just wanted to put my advice or 2¢ in, in case you're still looking for answers

I feel like I'm always recommending this foundation line, but I've yet to find anything better in the foundation department. It's quite pricey and unfortunately, it's not sold on the Sephora website or in-store.

It's called 'Face Atelier,' and they are based in Canada. They ship to the US but I'm not sure about other countries. In addition to having the absolute best foundation, they offer a lightener for exactly the issue you're inquiring about. It's a white color that can be added to offset anything too dark. I don't think it specifically says it's for blush and bronzer but I'm sure there's a way to use it this way. It's their 'ultra foundation line' and it's color 'zero minus.'

I've not personally tried any of the lighteners or darkeners, so I can't say with 100% certainty they are as amazing as the regular foundation colors, but I do think the formulas are exactly the same. It is quite pricey as well, so there are some definite cons to go along with the pros I'm laying down (quite thickly I might add, 🤗!)

👉The good news here is they do sell samples for $1.00! 💃

I think the full bottle is $55.00. 👀

Another idea is to try NYX line of foundation lightener drops. They have 'hue shifters' with their 'total control foundation drops.' I haven't tried it or read reviews, but I do think they still carry this product. Unsure of the price but NYX is typically reasonable. I think they are considered a drugstore brand even though they're also a pro line...I think!?

I hope this helps and hope you're able to find something that works for you!
