Light Foundation

I am tired of full coverage foundation but I can't seem to find any light coverage foundation for anything less than 50 bucks. Anyone have any suggestions?P.s. I have pale skin

Re: Light Foundation

Hi @BookCat !

I am very fair and love light coverage bases! What is your undertone and do you have a sephora color IQ?

My favorite bases are:

  • The Ordinary Serum Foundation in 1.0N ($6.70 - you can purchase from the Deciem website. This is a watery light coverage foundation that dries down demi-matte on my skin and can be built up to your desired coverage).
  • Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Gel Cream in Opal ($30 - applies best with a beauty blender because it can ball up on me if I use my hands or a brush. This is VERY glowy. I have dry skin so I love it, but I wouldn't recommend if you have oily skin)
  • Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer ($44 but also available in cheaper travel sizes in some shades. I liked the texture and light coverage of this product. The lightest shade was too dark for me, but I am a 1Y01 color IQ so I'm extremely fair)
  • Tarte BB Tinted Primer Treatment in Fair ($14 - $37 This is the lightest coverage because technically it's just a tinted primer. But I'm so pale that I find it does give me some tint and blurring)
  • Stila Aqua Glow Foundation in Fair ($30 - this is being discontinued and is currently available only on Stila's website in the lighter shades. This is another one I wouldn't recommend for oily skin)

Sephora has several Dr Jart BB creams that are very popular. I do enjoy the textures of them, but all of them are too dark for me.

If you'd like, I can provide swatches of any of the products I mentioned. My top 2 favorites are the Ordinary Serum foundaiton and Bare Minerals complexion rescue.

There is nothing wrong with drug store brands! One of my absolute go to foundations is ELF ($6), Maybellene Fit Me ($9), or Milani ($12). I love my IT BB Cream or my Urban Decay or whatever too but it's expensive!! I try to either use them on special occasions or if I need the extra coverage. You can even thin out your expensive foundation by mixing it with something like primer, another foundation or maracuja oil (my secret to reduce creasing and settling). End of the day it's your face and your pocket book. Do what makes you happy!

Re: Light Foundation

For light coverage and under $50, is the Tarte light foundation. It has SPF 30 and I believe should have your shade. I personally love it and it just evens out the skin tone.
