Kat Von D Lock It Foundation

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying this foundation and I want to get some opinions first. I need full coverage concealer, but my skin is prone to oiliness but not too much acne anymore. My skin tone is on the lighter side but kind of olive-y. What do you think? Should I try it or is there a better one out there? Price is an issue too, I wouldn't pay more than $50 CAD.

For me the lock it foundation isn’t an everyday foundation, it’s quite heavy. I love it for a night out but it is a very thick foundation, and can cake easily from my experience. The smash box studio skin is $50 and would be a great option, or the Clinique stay matte oilfree Foundation

I like Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation.  I use the powder in Light 45.  It is easy to carry in your bag for quick touch-ups.  Sometimes it is a little drying for my 55 year old skin but it might be great for someone with oilier skin.  I have had more trouble with the liquid - I have not found a good colour match and it seems to darken during the day.  It may be fine for others who can find a better match.  Kat Von D is cruelty-free and I do appreciate that.    

Owing to the colour issue, I have switched my liquid foundation to Deciem The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation.  It is quite good.  21 shades and CDN $6.90 for 30 ml.  The Ordinary is on the Sephora website but the foundation does not seem to be there yet.  You can find it at www.deciem.com.  Sephora is carrying The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer - 30 ml for CDN $4.90 as well as some mattifying Hylamide primers.   It is amazingly inexpensive but also amazing.  Over my lifetime I have used many very expensive make-up and skin care products and I am delighted with this brand.

Personally I love the foundation so much! It has great coverage. My skin is both dry and oily and I would say it works better with oily skin. To me it was def worth it!!
