Issues With Hourglass Vanish Stick??

Hello everyone!

I was just curious to see if anyone else had the same issues as me with the Hourglass Vanish Stick. My colour match is spot on, I love Hourglass overall as a brand and I want to love this dang foundation!!!!

I don't know why, but it looks HORRIBLE ON ME. Seriously I cannot think of anything that makes my skin look worse.

I have larger pores, but normal skin. Not a ton of blemishes, dryness or oiliness as of late because my skincare routine is perfect for me at the moment, Ive found a good balance. I don't know that it is but when I use this foundation it emphasizes every line, pore, blemish or slightly dry patch that I didn't even know was there. To the point that I once left the house with it on and was so embarrassed that I bought makeup wipes to remove it because my bare skin looks 10 times better.

I have tried it with radiance primers, smoothing primers, even the veil primer!!!! I have tried setting it with powder or not setting it, but honestly it looks bad as soon as I put it on, no matter what I do. I have also applied it with fingers, brushes and a beauty blender.... no difference. I have even played with the amount and tried putting on a little or adding more to see if it made a difference..

Does anyone have any tips or feel the same way I do? SO MANY people consider this a holy grail and sometimes I wonder if I got a faulty or dud product.

@MIkaylaV I actually don't use HOURGLASS - Vanish™ Seamless Finish Foundation Stick just by itself.  I have dry/combo skin and after I put primer on I swipe some on my face and then I put other foundation over it and haven't had any issues.

I will try that and see if mixing it will help me. I'm just afraid it will ruin the consistency of any other foundation. It confuses me so much when I watch videos of people using it alone and it turns out so beautiful.

@MIkaylaV It really depends on skin type at the end of the day. On a daily basis I mix 2-3 foundations to get the perfect shade and look. Mixing it into another foundation will not ruin the consistency of it.
