How many foundations is too much?

How many does everyone have and use?

I have the It Cosmetics original, It Cosmetics matte (which are both about 85% finished) and a NARS Radiant TM. 

I picked up the FAB Skin Tint and Kosas Tinted Face Oil but love them both and can't decide which to keep. Both look very glowy/dewy on me (Kosas a bit more than the FAB Skin Tint) so I'm thinking I could alternate between the two depending on my mood.

Is it crazy to keep both? haha

You can never have too many! I have 6 but I live in a cold place so my skin color changes frequently!

I have 4 liquid foundations: KVD Lock It, Fenty, Estée Lauder Double Wear, and Hourglass Immaculate, and a KVD powder foundation. I’m content with that. I’d be so overwhelmed and not be able to finish bottles before they expired if I had more.. it’s nice to have variety, but in my opinion you don’t need to own 20+ that’s excessive.

I have two tinted moisturizers and three regular foundations. I wear the tints during warmer months when I don’t wanna have a lot going on my face. I wear the others when I go out or when the weather is cooler. My skin tone doesn’t really change with the seasons because I don’t spend a lot of time outdoors.

@mmmiu I have 3. I usually use the liquid one, the stick one for nights out and the tinted I'm throwing out as I never use it. I also forgot when I purchased it. 

I think 2 is my perfect number. I can live with 1. Second bottle of the UD and Bobbi 🥰🥰❤❤

I have 3 skin tints: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation moisturizer, MAKE UP FOR EVER - Ultra HD Perfector Skin Tint Foundation SPF 25, and LANCôME - SKIN FEELS GOOD Skin Nourishing Foundation. I sometimes use a By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Compact as a sheer powder foundation over my sunscreen. 

I’ve gotten rid of all my other foundations since I very rarely wore them. I mean I rarely wear the 4 things I just mentioned 😄 but at least they each get used a few times a year, vs. all the foundations I had that I never reached for. 

Options are good! Nothing wrong with keeping several foundations/tints in your collection, as long as you actually use them. 🙂

@DianaHuynh  The IT Cosmetics tint can be built up to full coverage, but I never take it that far. I don’t use it or my other tints (or the powder compact I mentioned) for full coverage. I use them to even out my skin tones—basically to blur the lines between tones and warm up some of my hyperpigmentation patches. For that, I only need sheer to medium coverage. 

I have 3 tints because I like each formula. I never combine them; I wear one at a time. Of the 3, my favorite is MUFE. I’ve considered dropping the other 2 and sticking with that one. Haven’t done that yet because I wanna try using up the other 2. 😂

I currently have 4 foundations and 2 BB creams/tinted moisturizers that I use regularly. It completely depends on my mood each day and how much time I have to get ready. I personally think it's great to have a few options on hand! 🙂

I have 10 but I am very oily and tend to jump on a foundation if it promises to have the slightest amount of oil control to go with my skin care routine.

Not crazy at all! I purchased 3 foundations during the sale and have at least 8-10 on my vanity already. I switch between them depending on the finish and look I’m going for. Plus I have colors for my winter skin tone and summer skin tone.

I have around 38 foundations and have been trying to be good about not buying more til I use up what I have. I normally rotate between 2 throughout the work week because they are reliable and match me well and on my days off I focus on foundations I am testing and that are more sheer coverage. I also want to add that my skin tone changed throughout the year so I have my “winter” shades and “summer” shades so that is another reason why I have so many foundations. I say that if they both work for you, you should keep them and just rotate them so you can get uses out of both of them and just repurchase one when you are done with both 😬

@gonerogue I'm the same. I probably have about 25 or more foundations on my vanity right now. I just like to switch it up depending on how I'm feeling or how my skin is doing that day- light to full coverage, dewy, satin or matte, etc. I tell myself I won't buy another one but then I get drawn in.

@mmmiu 4 active, 7 second tier or mixing. And a pile of samples and clear misses. -- I barely wear foundation. But last year, I did a lot of shade matching, so.... I found that different things work for different occasions. Each one is slightly different. So, keep as many as you like and know you'll use! 😋
