Haus Labs vs Dior Backstage

I currently am using Haus Labs foundation and really really love it. (For reference i have normal/ slightly dry skin. Definitely not oily at all)

My only concern is how it will hold up in summer heat and humidity.
A beauty YouTuber i watch recommended Dior Backstage Face and Body foundation because it lasts even in heat and humidity. It also seems similar to Haus Labs that it looks natural on the skin which is why Iโ€™m interested in it.

So- I have a few questions Iโ€™m hoping you all can help me with:

  • If you wear Haus Labs and live in a hot humid climate, did it hold up as usual?

  • if youโ€™ve tried Dior Backstage:

is it worth the hype/is it just as good as the Haus Labs foundation?

Also, does it oxidize on you? I have seen a few reviews saying it oxidizes deeper when it dries down. Iโ€™m shade 070 in Haus Labs and am not sure if i should go with 0N in Dior or 0.5 N.

Thank you so much in advance for any advice!!

Re: Haus Labs vs Dior Backstage

@juliemyers, so the DIOR Backstage Face & Body Foundation got reformulated about a year ago, and it's finish is more luminous than its previous one.  It's also a little lighter from what I can gather, so it drying down a little differently is on par for the ingredient change and possibly keeping with the previous shades in a way.  I have (and deeply love) the old formula which really does last all day, so I think the new one is supposed to be close, just made with plant based ingredients.

The Haus Labs, I can't get a decent match, but still like for others.  What I really like is that the direct site offers a sample pack, so you can try the shades without buying.

Re: Haus Labs vs Dior Backstage

I'm about to treat myself to the Haus labs foundation so I'll try to reply with how it goes! The DIOR Backstage Face & Body Foundation  is currently my favourite foundation but I heard soo many good things about the Haus labs foundation!!!

I love the Dior one because the shade range is very even, it's super buildable, and has such a natural finish that gives an natural glow, like a "my skin but better" but you can make it full coverage!

It does oxidize but not by much also it lacks the whole "makeup + skincare" aspect that Haus labs has. Also, the Dior backstage has a scent to it, just FYI.

As for holding up in the heat. It gets up to 35ยฐC where I live (Toronto, Canada) but I've worn it to outdoor summer events and weddings for 10h and it holds up the entire day. I also have the same skin type as you, normal and slightly dry.

I'm in the shade 3N for the Dior and definitely oxidizes a little bit as mentioned above. But it's nothinf crazy, just looks like you were standing in the sun for an hour ๐Ÿ˜‚. 3N is my summer shade and I still wear it in the winter but I go lighter on the coverage and bring back light with my concealer, this is always an option but it's easier to start lighter and darken than to do start darker and lighten.

Does the Haus labs foundation last all day and live up to the hype?

Re: Haus Labs vs Dior Backstage

Thanks so much for responding!

I absolutely think the Haus Labs foundation is worth the hype!! It sounds like it has a similar finish than Dior. Very natural with a slight glow. Haus Labs definitely has more coverage right off the bat.  And a bonus, I donโ€™t notice any oxidation!!
Again, I havenโ€™t had this foundation long, so I havenโ€™t worn it in summer months, but it wore beautifully in the late fall and winter months.

I think if you love Dior Backstage, youโ€™ll enjoy Haus Labs!

Re: Haus Labs vs Dior Backstage

I definitely need to get a hold of it! The Haus labs seems more glowy which I love!
