Georgio Armani Foundation

I am having trouble color matching my skin to the Georgio Armani foundation. I am (Y255)- sand beige in the make up forever one and (Punjab) in the all natural hours foundation in nars. What color would I be for the Georgio Armani one? Please help!!!!!!!

Re: Georgio Armani Foundation

Hi, @naynoelpI'd recommend using Sephora's Color IQ to help find shade matches.

Here's the link: https://www.sephora.com/color-iq

If you do not have a Color IQ number yet, don't worry. You can search the brand you currently wear, select your foundation formula & shade, and then click "match me." You'll then see a list of foundations that have the same Color IQ as the one you already use. You also have the option to adjust the shade (lighter or darker) and/or filter the results further.

I already plugged in your MUFE Y255 shade, and unfortunately, it had no Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk matches. I then tried to do the same thing for Nars Punjab but ran into a problem - there is no such thing as Nars all natural hours foundation. It's always best to be as detailed as possible when asking questions on here. Otherwise, it can be difficult to help you.

Instead of me guessing which Nars product you use, I think it'd be best for you to double check your Nars foundation formula name and then follow the Color IQ steps I've previously listed. If no Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk matches come up for that one, too, don't fret. It's still likely that you'll be able to find a shade match. The Color IQ system is a helpful tool, but it is by no means completely accurate.

Findation DOT com and Temptalia's Foundation Matrix are two other sites that work in a similar fashion. These are also good places to go if a particular match, shade, or brand isn't listed in the Color IQ system. I ended up plugging your MUFE shade into those two sites as well. Findation DOT com suggested Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk 3.5 and Temptalia listed 3, 3.5, 4, 4.25, and 5 as possible shade matches.

As you can see, Temptalia spat out a bunch of shades, but they can be weeded down based on your current MUFE foundation shade description. According to the MUFE Ultra HD Liquid Shade Chart, Y225 is for light skin tones with yellow (aka warm) undertones. With that in mind, shades that do not fit that description can probably be ruled out. That leaves the shades 3.5 (light to medium with warm undertone), 4 (light skin with golden undertone), and possibly 4.25 (light skin with peachy undertone). As for picking which shade to try, I recommend selecting the one whose description fits you best. It's also worth noting that 3.5 was suggested by two of the shade finder sites.

Lastly, I'd highly recommend swatching foundation shades in-store. That would honestly be the best way to find a match. After all, these shade finder sites are not perfect.

I hope this helps or at least points you in the right direction!
