Foundation

What's the best solid foundation and worse solid foundation you've tried and why? I've only tried two the amazonian claystick which wasn't as good and it breaks down on my skin granted it looks good in pictures...but real life ? not so good. The other one was IT Cosmetics confidence in a compact it looked nice and the "solid serum" consistency was good... it took quite a bit to layer it to full coverage as opposed to the claystick but it looked dewy and natural it did not separate especially when i set it with powder and wore well. the best for me was the It cosmetics confidence in a compact. the worse Tartes Amazonian claystick I'm just looking to try full coverage solid foundations since liquids while good tend to not mesh well with my skincare routine.

Re: Foundation

I love the Bobbi Brown stick foundation. It starts out as medium coverage, and a little goes a long long way. It does not oxidize, and there are a ton of shades. You can build it up to full coverage if you wish. I put it directly on my face in a war paint pattern (just for fun), then use the Bobbi "full coverage" brush to buff it to where it needs to be. I have really acne prone skin that does not play nice with silicones/siloxanes, and this doesn't break me out at all. If my skin becomes oily, a blot will straighten it out, but the formula does not break down. I also have never experienced problems with any transfer. I love it.

I have used some bad, bad formulas. (Looking at the Tarte stick and the crazy orange it turned.) I used to love Chantecalle's stick foundation, but they discontinued it around 2013. Thank goodness for Bobbi Brown!

Re: Foundation

With the Bobby B foundation stick do you find it best to use powder foundation to set it,  or the Matte coverage suffices?

Re: Foundation

If you want a true matte finish, powder would be best. It has a finish that is very much like real skin, not matte, not shiny.
