Foundation coming off

So NO MATTER HOW EXPENSIVE OR CHEAP the foundation i buy. No matter if i prime n moisturize first , EVERY time within a few hours ny foundation ends up looking hella blotchy and bust yuck ๐Ÿคฎ and its so frustrating IDK what in doing wrong.

Re: Foundation coming off

@tinybaby970  A few questions for you:

  1. Whatโ€™s your skin type/behavior: dry, oily, combo, or balanced (not too dry or oily anywhere)?
  2. How do you set your foundation after application: powder, setting spray, or nothing at all?
  3. Whatโ€™s your morning skincare routine (brands + product names), from cleanser to sunscreen?

I often see folks with oily skin ask how to keep foundation from getting blotchy/patchy throughout the day, but it can also be a problem for dry skin thatโ€™s not hydrated & moisturized enoughโ€”though dry skin folks usually say their foundationโ€™s clinging to dry patches or looking cakey. Tweaking skincare can fix some of these issues; thatโ€™s why I asked about your routine up there.

Re: Foundation coming off

There's a few things you can try @tinybaby970

I think first off, if its happening no matter what products you are using is:

1) Use Less. Moisturizer, serums etc.. everything your putting on try using a little less. There's pics online if you search Google about how much skin care we actually need, portion sizing can usually be a lot smaller than we think.

2) โฐ Wait. Between your moisturizer serum stage, wait longer before using your primer and makeup. And wait a while for your primer to set before going in with your makeup. And same as above, try less. Make sure your not using too much of either product. Building up slowly can be helpful.

3) Another option is removing items like a serum etc one item at a time. Over a few days you might find the product that's not meshing well with others in your routine.
