Foundation Match

Hi, For years now i have struggled to find a good foundation match. I have discoloration around my chin and forehead and they are darker and my cheek is lighter. Foundations that i am happy with till date are 1. Nars, Velvet Skin Foundation Stick - Syracuse (can come across as a bit ashy around my chin, therefore need to color correct), 2. Dior Nude Skin Air SPF 20 - 040 Honey Beige.

I like a medium coverage and am looking for matches in Armani Luminous Silk, Lancome

Re: Foundation Match

Hi, @NWhisk. I'd suggest using Sephora's Color IQ to help find shade matches.

Here's the link: https://www.sephora.com/color-iq

If you do not have a Color IQ number yet, don't worry. You can search the brand you currently wear (that's sold at Sephora), select your foundation formula & shade, and then click "match me." You'll then see a list of foundations that have the same Color IQ as the one you already use. You also have the option to adjust the shade (lighter or darker) and/or filter the results further.

I went ahead & plugged your information in, and Color IQ #1Y09 matches the Dior Honey Beige.

The link below lists all of the foundation shades that are similar in color to the Dior one. There you'll find that Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk 6.5 and Lancรดme Teint Idole 340 Bisque N are listed as matches.

Findation DOT com and Temptalia's Foundation Matrix are two other sites that work in a similar fashion. You can head over to those sites if you'd like to see what they recommend. These are also good places to go if a particular match isn't listed in the Color IQ system.

I'd highly recommend swatching foundation shades in-store, though. That would honestly be the best way to find a match. After all, these online shade match sites are not perfect.

I hope this helps!
