Fixing Spray vs Setting Spray

In 2025, is there really a difference between a fixing spray and a setting spray? I just watched a video that said don’t look at the labels. For example, they labeled Milk Makeup setting spray and Charlotte Tilbury setting sprays as “setting sprays” for melting but labeled One Size as a fixing spray for locking in makeup (although it is labeled as a setting spray on the can). I have watched other videos where they asked which setting sprays hold your makeup the longest and usually the top ones are Milk, Charlotte Tilbury and One Size. I’m confused not on the definition of Fixing and Setting sprays but which product is actually a fixing spray when most (if not all) are labeled setting sprays. Are they all interchangeable now? What products are truly setting sprays and which ones are fixing sprays?

Re: Fixing Spray vs Setting Spray

@Tonorah Setting spray focuses on melting makeup layers together, creating a seamless look, and providing a light hydration. Fixing spra, is designed to lock makeup in place, making it smudge-proof, sweat-proof, and waterproof.
