Finding Foundation shade...

Hello,

My color IQ shade is 2y02, I’d like to try Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation but I am unsure of what shade I’d be. Does anyone know?

Hi, @KelseyAlthea.

The Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation was recently reformulated and renamed as Maifanshi Aqua Foundation. Though for some reason, Sephora has chosen to still list it as Aqua Foundation 🤷‍♀️. Anyway, only three out of the ten shades are currently showing up in the Color IQ system. That's most likely why you weren't able to find a Koh Gen Do match. It's possible that Sephora's Color IQ hasn't been updated with all of the new shades yet, but I don't really know for sure. 

In the meantime, I'd recommend using Findation DOT com and Temptalia's Foundation Matrix to help find a shade match. These are good places to go if a particular match, shade, or brand isn't listed in the Color IQ system. Hopefully, at least one of the sites will be able to suggest a Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Aqua shade based on your current foundation shade.  

Also, here's a photo from the Koh Gen Do website that shows how each Maifanshi Aqua Foundation shade looks. This could be helpful if one of the models has a skin tone that's similar to yours.

TL;DR: For the time being, forget about Sephora's Color IQ, and use Findation DOT com and/or Temptalia's Foundation matrix to find a shade match.

If you type in your colour IQ into the search function, it will bring up all of your true shade matches for foundations and concealers, that may help @KelseyAlthea

For some reason one doesn’t pop up for Koh Gen Do 😞
