Fenty eaze drop color vs Fenty foundation

I’ve been using Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Liquid Foundation 170  and want to switch to the the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint but I don’t know which shade I would be. If I compare the shade description, I’d be shade 1, but that looks awfully pale. Has anyone tried both and had success getting a good match? Or is it trial and error? I don’t have a Sephora close to check out in person and I hate to return if it can be avoided.

Re: Fenty eaze drop color vs Fenty foundation

Not being on the lighter end of the scale, I see what you're saying - it seems like a pretty significant leap from Shade 1 to 2 or 3.

I'd only add that by virtue of being a sheer skin tint product, the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint  products are drastically more forgiving of mild-to-moderate mismatch in shade and tone. There's a reason the shade range for the skin tints in general are nowhere near as broad as their sister foundations; your actual underlying skin tone contributes a lot more to the final appearance after application.

That being said, the Eaze Drop products are relatively true-to-color; the shade that you see in the bottle and an immediate swatch are pretty darn close to the final shade after application and dry-down (at least for my medium-tan shades). Compared to other skin tint and sheer coverage products, I'd add that Eaze Drop has better blurring properties; on some days, I'll use Eaze Drop for the blurred, texture-minimization compared to actual pigment coverage.

Thanks! That’s good to know. I generally prefer minimal coverage for daily wear which is why I want the switch. It was just so confusing to me.

Re: Fenty eaze drop color vs Fenty foundation

The eaze drops have a sheerer coverage, so it's possible that it could work. But I will say that I have fairly pale skin and shade 2 of the eaze drops is a great match for me. For reference, I'd be 120 in the soft matte from Fenty.

I agree, 1 seems pretty light in comparison to 170, so you may want to bump up to the next shade up. On the fenty beauty website, they do have a shade finder tool, so that may be helpful.

That is so helpful! Thank you. That definitely gives me more of a starting point. And I always forget to check the actual brand page, so thanks for the reminder. 🤦🏼‍♀️
