Dr. Dennis Gross IPL

Hey everyone. I bought the Dennis Gross IPL serum and I love it! The only issue I have is it stains my fingers after I apply it and it also stains my pillow cases leaving a yellowish/orange stain behind. Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Dr. Dennis Gross IPL

@Katdi The dark yellow/orange is the L-ascorbic acid oxidizing (L-aa serums are unstable, but there are ways to keep it stable temporarily like low pH and a light-proof container). It normally happens over time and reduces effectiveness. The more oxidized it is, the darker orange it becomes, which you should probably toss it once it looks dark orange. Dropper bottles especially quicken the rate it oxidizes because they expose it to air and light every time you use it. Higher temperatures can also increase the rate.

You can place a towel over your pillowcase.

RE: Re: Dr. Dennis Gross IPL

Thanks for replying! The product itself doesn’t look orange when I’m applying it, and it doesn’t stain the skin on my face at all. My fingers are the ones that get stained, even though I wash my hands immediately after. I’ve also noticed that the top dropper part of the bottle kinda of comes out whenever I close it. Wonder if this is normal or if it’s a defective one. I was using the Kiehls Clearly Corrective serum before and it works great as well, but I wanted to give this one a try. I never had that bottle/dropper issue with that one.
